On 8 December 2020 at 9 am EST, the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) of the World Bank Group is organising an event entitled "Working together to unlock FDI".
As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the global Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) flow are dropping by 40 percent and there is a greater need for improved coordination among international financial institutions.
The new handbook entitled "Expanding Political Risk Insurance: A Partnership Approach to Grow Private Investment" will be launched during the event. The handbook calls for a deeper and more systematic co-operation between the actors of the development community to advance the role of political risk insurance in unlocking private capital.
During the event, principles for collaboration and best practices will be presented.
