The Green Finance Platform welcomes the Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) as a new partner in green finance knowledge.

The CDSB is an international consortium of business and environmental NGOs committed to advancing and aligning the global mainstream corporate reporting model to equate non-financial information with financial capital. It does so by offering companies the CDSB Framework, which sets out an approach for disclosing climate and environmental information within corporate reports to enable investors to make informed capital allocations.

The framework is used by 374 companies in 32 countries and is referenced in seven stock exchanges.

The CDSB is recognized globally for its thought-leadership publications, guidance and knowledge sharing to advance the global discourse and disclosure of both climate and environmental information, thereby influencing regulatory developments and corporate practices in multiple jurisdictions worldwide.

The board has successfully produced a variety of guides and handbooks such as the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) Implementation Guide, TCFD Handbook and EU Environmental Reporting Handbook to meet the market demand for more effective guidance regarding non-financial reporting. The CDSB also produces educational and capacity development webinars on key themes, topics and areas of interest within the sustainable finance space.

Core CDSB projects include:

  • Providing companies and policymakers with the practical tools and technical expertise they need to implement the recommendations of the TCFD
  • Working closely with EU institutions and member states to ensure the implementation of the Non-Financial Reporting Directive
  • Supporting the UK government in developing effective policies on environmental reporting
  • Supporting the creation of more transparent and resilient markets against climate change disruption via the Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative
  • The Beyond Disclosure programme, which helps companies improve their reporting practices in line with the TCFD recommendations and regulatory requirements by providing insights, feedback and practical support

The CDSB has developed two platforms: the Reporting Exchange, which enables reporters, academics, investors, NGOs, regulators and standard setters to contribute information about reporting in their region, share experiences and learn from others; and the TCFD Knowledge Hub, which provide useful information on quality climate-related disclosures in line with the recommendations of a task force.
