ShareAction has joined the Green Finance Platform as a new partner in green finance knowledge.
The UK-based non-profit works to build a global investment sector which is responsible for its impacts on people and planet. Specifically, it mobilizes investors to take action to improve labour standards, tackle climate change and address pressing global health issues, such as childhood obesity.
Over the last 15 years, ShareAction has used its powerful toolkit of research, corporate campaigns, policy advocacy and public mobilization to drive responsibility into the heart of mainstream investment. The organization wants a future where all finance providers powers social progress.
At the core of ShareAction’s engagement on responsible investment is the belief that responsible investors act in two key ways:
Since 2005, ShareAction has been ranking the UK’s largest pension funds and their asset managers on their responsible investment performance. The rankings shape the conversations they have with institutional investors – such as pension funds, asset managers, insurance companies and investment – and give them the tools they need to make the case for improving policies and practices by pointing to best practice amongst their peers on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues.
